Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Information Technology and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 1.83% or 0.09 points to trade at 5.01 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 1.83% or 97.00 points to end at 5397.00 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 1.41% or 4.75 points to 342.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP), which lost 3.92% or 4.85 points to trade at 118.80 in late trade. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 3.81% or 11.30 points to end at 285.35 and Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) shed 3.28% or 2.75 points to 81.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 278 to 213 and 181 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 4.16% or 1.52 to $38.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 3.25% or 1.29 to hit $40.94 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.62% or 7.80 to trade at $1255.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.18% to 4.3164, while USD/PLN fell 0.30% to 3.9156.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 96.99.
