Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Real Estate and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.44%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which rose 1.15% or 0.77 points to trade at 68.00 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (PA:AXAF) added 0.40% or 0.10 points to end at 24.93 and Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) was up 0.35% or 0.29 points to 84.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 4.66% or 0.23 points to trade at 4.60 at the close. Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) declined 2.68% or 0.79 points to end at 28.52 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was down 2.12% or 5.40 points to 249.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Altran Technologies (PA:ALTT) which rose 3.68% to 11.695, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was up 1.67% to settle at 65.850 and Sodexo (PA:EXHO) which gained 1.65% to close at 90.74.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which was down 4.66% to 4.60 in late trade, Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which lost 4.13% to settle at 14.62 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) which was down 2.68% to 28.52 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 415 to 303 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Altran Technologies (PA:ALTT) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.68% or 0.415 to 11.695.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.54% to 22.14.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.70% or 7.50 to $1068.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.88% or 0.37 to hit $42.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 0.73 to trade at $45.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.0618, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7019.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 99.88.
