Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which rose 0.36% or 0.40 points to trade at 111.60 at the close. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) fell 0.04% or 0.05 points to end at 116.15 and Elia (BR:ELI) was down 0.05% or 0.025 points to 45.515 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 7.71% or 4.920 points to trade at 58.860 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 2.22% or 0.245 points to end at 10.815 and UCB (BR:UCB) shed 2.20% or 1.58 points to 70.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 101 to 41 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.35 to $1343.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.24% or 1.44 to hit $45.92 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.95% or 1.37 to trade at $47.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1261, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8680.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.14.
