Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.32%, while the ADX General index fell 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 6.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) added 4.44% or 0.240 points to end at 5.650 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was up 3.33% or 0.040 points to 1.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 5.26% or 0.044 points to trade at 0.792 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 3.59% or 0.037 points to end at 0.993 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 2.54% or 0.030 points to 1.150.
The top performers on the ADX General were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which rose 11.11% to 0.6000, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was up 9.59% to settle at 1.60 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which gained 4.30% to close at 0.97.
The worst performers were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 5.56% to 0.85 in late trade, Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which lost 2.76% to settle at 7.75 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 2.03% to 1.45 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 rose and 9 declined, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.44% or 0.240 to 5.650.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.96% or 0.94 to $30.68 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.98% or 1.02 to hit $33.22 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.30 to trade at $1124.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.23% to 4.0090.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 98.99.
