Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Tourism and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 19.96% or 3.98 points to trade at 23.92 at the close. Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) added 4.69% or 0.56 points to end at 12.50 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) was up 4.62% or 0.150 points to 3.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL), which lost 6.47% or 0.91 points to trade at 13.15 in late trade. Do-Co (IS:DOCO) declined 4.82% or 12.70 points to end at 250.60 and Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) shed 2.87% or 0.050 points to 1.690.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 217 to 132 and 58 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.88% or 11.65 to $1329.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.70% or 1.29 to hit $49.14 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.72% or 1.34 to trade at $50.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.37% to 2.8943, while EUR/TRY rose 0.09% to 3.2168.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 95.76.
