Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Telecoms and Sports sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 4.39% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat AS (IS:AVISA), which rose 1.19% or 0.20 points to trade at 16.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Net Holding (IS:NTHOL) fell 0.30% or 0.010 points to end at 3.290 and Do-Co (IS:DOCO) was down 0.35% or 1.00 points to 283.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which fell 8.70% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.050 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 8.08% or 1.05 points to end at 11.95 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was down 7.62% or 1.60 points to 19.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 377 to 23 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat AS (IS:AVISA) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.19% or 0.20 to 16.95. Shares in Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) fell to 5-year lows; falling 8.70% or 0.100 to 1.050. Shares in Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.08% or 1.05 to 11.95.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.83% or 8.90 to $1075.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.45% or 1.44 to hit $43.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 3.54% or 1.58 to trade at $46.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.75% to 2.8712, while EUR/TRY rose 0.93% to 3.0605.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 99.64.
