Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Consumer Durables And Apparel and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.52% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Yara International ASA (OL:YAR), which rose 3.33% or 11.1 points to trade at 344.0 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 2.91% or 0.80 points to end at 28.31 and Statoil ASA (OL:STL) was up 2.90% or 3.9 points to 138.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which lost 6.84% or 0.8 points to trade at 10.9 in late trade. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 5.92% or 22.1 points to end at 351.2 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) shed 3.64% or 0.25 points to 6.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 87 and 16 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.68% or 0.30 to $43.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.96% or 0.44 to hit $45.36 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1253.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.76% to 9.2454, while USD/NOK rose 0.69% to 8.1759.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 94.45.
