Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Pharma & Bio-technology, Healthcare and Construction & Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 3.12% or 2.37 points to trade at 78.43 at the close. Meanwhile, DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) added 2.86% or 0.785 points to end at 28.245 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was up 2.23% or 2.40 points to 109.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 1.98% or 0.10 points to trade at 5.00 at the close. Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFBb) declined 0.17% or 0.090 points to end at 52.430 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.02% or 0.02 points to 94.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 132 to 23 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFBb) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.17% or 0.090 to 52.430.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.36% or 3.90 to $1086.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.69% or 0.21 to hit $30.18 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.92% or 0.83 to trade at $29.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.0914, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.7699.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 99.11.
