Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Banking and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.55%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 17.54% or 2.9 points to trade at 19.4 at the close. Meanwhile, DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) added 13.21% or 0.67 points to end at 5.74 and Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OL:DETNOR) was up 10.57% or 4.79 points to 50.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OL:RCLo), which fell 9.24% or 67.0 points to trade at 658.0 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 3.70% or 9.3 points to end at 242.0 and Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) was down 3.01% or 1.38 points to 44.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 96 to 89 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.94% or 0.95 to $33.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 3.11% or 1.05 to hit $34.98 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1115.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.20% to 9.4528, while USD/NOK fell 0.37% to 8.6286.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 98.54.
