Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Energy and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 2.39% or 0.21 points to trade at 9.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 2.09% or 0.44 points to end at 21.50 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 2.08% or 0.06 points to 2.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 4.44% or 1.51 points to trade at 32.50 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 4.26% or 2.07 points to end at 46.48 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was down 2.47% or 0.12 points to 4.73.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 383 to 140 and 114 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.10% or 0.64 to $31.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.98% or 0.29 to hit $30.48 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.58% or 6.30 to trade at $1080.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.78% to 4.3863, while USD/PLN rose 0.96% to 4.0395.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 99.19.
