Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 2.21% or 0.216 points to trade at 10.005 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 1.72% or 0.320 points to end at 18.955 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) was up 1.64% or 0.15 points to 9.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 3.18% or 0.126 points to trade at 3.835 in late trade. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) declined 1.76% or 0.073 points to end at 4.072 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) shed 1.66% or 0.310 points to 18.350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 91 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.32% or 3.95 to $1248.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.24% or 0.60 to hit $47.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.67 to trade at $48.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.7744.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.34.
