Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.58%, while the ADX General index fell 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 1.53% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.330 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 1.38% or 0.020 points to end at 1.470 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) was up 0.98% or 0.010 points to 1.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 3.08% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.850 in late trade. Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) declined 2.31% or 0.030 points to end at 1.270 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) shed 1.98% or 0.019 points to 0.942.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 5.19% to 2.840, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was up 4.48% to settle at 2.10 and Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) which gained 3.00% to close at 5.15.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 9.47% to 1.720 in late trade, Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which lost 8.91% to settle at 2.760 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 7.02% to 0.530 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 18 fell and 5 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.20% or 0.58 to $47.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.28% or 0.65 to hit $50.31 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.55 to trade at $1244.95 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.18% to 3.9640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 99.63.
