Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 2.15% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 10.68% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.518 at the close. Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) added 6.83% or 0.140 points to end at 2.190 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 5.26% or 0.01 points to 0.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 6.29% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.134 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 4.11% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.1400 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) shed 4.08% or 0.200 points to 4.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.30 to $1254.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.56% or 0.28 to hit $50.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.34 to trade at $51.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.1002, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.9031.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 97.94.
