Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were RDR United Company RUSAL PLC (MCX:RUALR), which rose 7.28% or 19.00 points to trade at 280.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Akron (MCX:AKRN) added 6.34% or 155.0 points to end at 2600.0 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 4.54% or 0.767 points to 17.645 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which fell 4.57% or 7.40 points to trade at 154.60 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 3.62% or 2.660 points to end at 70.790 and Sollers (MCX:SVAV) was down 3.41% or 14.0 points to 396.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 98 to 95 and 12 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.44% to 35.490.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.10% or 1.20 to $1154.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.51% or 0.79 to hit $52.99 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.52 to trade at $58.67 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.24% to 56.420, while EUR/RUB fell 0.24% to 62.120.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.84.
