Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Food Producers and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were NN Group (AS:NN), which rose 3.33% or 1.04 points to trade at 32.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 2.23% or 0.32 points to end at 14.43 and Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) was up 1.14% or 0.06 points to 5.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 6.36% or 0.25 points to trade at 3.70 at the close. OCI (AS:OCI) declined 3.49% or 0.740 points to end at 20.485 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) was down 3.35% or 1.33 points to 38.47.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 140 to 29 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in OCI (AS:OCI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.49% or 0.740 to 20.485.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.78% to 26.51.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 4.64% or 1.67 to $34.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 5.01% or 1.82 to hit $34.59 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.16% or 12.50 to trade at $1090.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.0758, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.7357.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 99.48.
