Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.57% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR), which rose 3.80% or 0.465 points to trade at 12.710 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) added 2.58% or 1.56 points to end at 61.92 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) was up 2.43% or 0.93 points to 39.16 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Danone SA (PA:DANO), which lost 1.39% or 0.89 points to trade at 63.31 in late trade. Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) declined 1.15% or 0.058 points to end at 4.974 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 1.15% or 2.50 points to 215.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 6.18% to 5.670, Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) which was up 3.80% to settle at 12.710 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which gained 3.46% to close at 42.90.
The worst performers were Danone SA (PA:DANO) which was down 1.39% to 63.31 in late trade, Fonciere des Regions (PA:FDR) which lost 1.31% to settle at 75.86 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) which was down 1.15% to 215.20 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 414 to 186 and 103 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.81% to 15.78.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.08% or 0.95 to $1254.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.84% or 0.88 to hit $48.61 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.63% or 0.83 to trade at $51.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0844, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8681.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 99.19.
