Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 4.45% or 31.59 points to trade at 742.00 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) added 2.02% or 0.690 points to end at 34.860 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 1.42% or 0.220 points to 15.740 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 3.87% or 0.870 points to trade at 21.590 in late trade. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 3.11% or 0.720 points to end at 22.460 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 2.13% or 9.20 points to 422.57.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 158 to 113 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.41% or 5.26 to $1262.84 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.56% or 0.28 to hit $49.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.54 to trade at $52.10 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.18% to 18.6881, while EUR/MXN rose 1.42% to 20.9182.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 97.18.
