Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Ferrari NV (MI:RACE), which rose 8.59% or 3.07 points to trade at 38.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 4.70% or 0.0470 points to end at 1.0470 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAPm) was up 4.43% or 1.27 points to 29.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 14.37% or 0.1100 points to trade at 0.6555 at the close. Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) declined 6.30% or 0.6550 points to end at 9.7450 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) was down 3.46% or 0.1440 points to 4.0180.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 269 to 162 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) fell to 3-years lows; falling 14.37% or 0.1100 to 0.6555. Shares in Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.30% or 0.6550 to 9.7450. Shares in Unicredit (MI:CRDI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.46% or 0.1440 to 4.0180.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.92% or 0.28 to $30.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.61% or 0.74 to hit $29.30 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.34% or 3.70 to trade at $1087.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.0914, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.7697.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 99.10.
