Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Services and Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 1.17%, while the ADX General index gained 0.98%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 6.67% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.400 at the close. Meanwhile, SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 5.71% or 0.021 points to end at 0.389 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 4.02% or 0.070 points to 1.810 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD), which fell 2.61% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.600 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 2.23% or 0.040 points to end at 1.750 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was down 1.90% or 0.008 points to 0.412.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which rose 7.69% to 0.420, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was up 4.18% to settle at 2.49 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which gained 3.45% to close at 0.6000.
The worst performers were Buhaira Nat In (AD:ABNI) which was down 10.00% to 2.43 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 9.67% to settle at 2.71 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 2.47% to 0.790 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 6 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 16 rose and 4 declined, while 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 3.21% or 0.98 to $31.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.54% or 0.88 to hit $35.38 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.73% or 8.80 to trade at $1202.60 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6733, while EUR/AED fell 0.04% to 4.0858.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.79.
