Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Retail and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 7.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 30.00% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 29.94% or 0.097 points to end at 0.421 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 28.57% or 0.028 points to 0.126 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iaso (AT:IASr), which fell 6.84% or 0.029 points to trade at 0.395 at the close. ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) declined 5.26% or 1.10 points to end at 19.81 and Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) was down 3.91% or 0.005 points to 0.123.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 82 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) fell to all time lows; falling 3.91% or 0.005 to 0.123.
Gold for April delivery was down 2.74% or 33.90 to $1205.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.29% or 0.38 to hit $29.82 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.37 to trade at $33.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.91% to 1.1153, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.7720.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.80% at 96.76.
