Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 1.83% or 0.056 points to trade at 3.112 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 1.36% or 0.0320 points to end at 2.3840 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) was up 0.72% or 0.0130 points to 1.8180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 19.39% or 0.0638 points to trade at 0.2652 in late trade. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 7.03% or 1.52 points to end at 20.10 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) shed 4.77% or 0.305 points to 6.095.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 306 to 85 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 4.47% or 2.19 to $46.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 4.25% or 2.13 to hit $47.97 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.28% or 17.15 to trade at $1356.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1092, while EUR/GBP rose 1.29% to 0.8499.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.08.
