Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were China Tv (TW:9928), which rose 9.80% or 0.49 points to trade at 5.49 at the close. Candmark (TW:5259) added 9.69% or 0.19 points to end at 2.15 and Evertop Wire (TW:1616) was up 9.56% or 0.480 points to 5.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tatung Co Ltd (TW:2371), which lost 8.27% or 0.70 points to trade at 7.76 in late trade. Action Eltr (TW:3024) declined 7.83% or 0.540 points to end at 6.360 and Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) shed 5.19% or 1.60 points to 29.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 540 to 226 and 84 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.21% or 0.58 to $47.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.33% or 0.66 to hit $49.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.85 to trade at $1326.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.01% to 31.364, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2123.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.47.
