Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 2.85% or 0.17 points to trade at 5.96 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) added 1.76% or 1.23 points to end at 71.22 and Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFB) was up 1.02% or 0.540 points to 53.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 1.69% or 2.05 points to trade at 118.90 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 1.64% or 0.81 points to end at 49.00 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 1.28% or 0.660 points to 50.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 73 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 1.23% or 15.30 to $1257.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.55% or 0.19 to hit $34.47 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.15 to trade at $36.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.63% to 1.0938, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.7736.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 97.76.
