Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Industrials and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.50% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 9.09% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.480 at the close. Ferreyros (LM:FER) added 7.59% or 0.120 points to end at 1.700 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 5.63% or 0.200 points to 3.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relapasa (LM:REL), which lost 6.11% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.246 in late trade. Intergroup (LM:IFS) declined 4.63% or 1.350 points to end at 27.800 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) shed 2.44% or 0.500 points to 20.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.21% or 0.55 to $45.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.56 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.44% or 18.05 to trade at $1268.45 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2765, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7303.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.69% at 93.73.
