Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Communication and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 25 were Poalim (TA:POLI), which rose 2.32% or 41 points to trade at 1812 at the close. Meanwhile, Teva (TA:TEVA) added 2.04% or 450 points to end at 22530 and Discount (TA:DSCT) was up 1.39% or 9.0 points to 655.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nice (TA:NICE), which fell 1.61% or 350 points to trade at 21350 at the close. Israel Corp (TA:ILCO) declined 1.59% or 1040 points to end at 64460 and Strauss Group (TA:STRS) was down 1.54% or 85 points to 5438.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 168 to 161 and 124 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.16% or 0.04 to $27.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.34% or 0.71 to hit $31.03 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.53% or 6.40 to trade at $1192.20 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.52% to 3.8901, while EUR/ILS fell 0.20% to 4.3566.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 96.55.
