Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (MC:REP), which rose 4.76% or 0.527 points to trade at 11.607 at the close. Meanwhile, Sacyr (MC:SCYR) added 4.75% or 0.102 points to end at 2.240 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 3.55% or 0.180 points to 5.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which fell 2.40% or 0.139 points to trade at 5.647 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 1.22% or 0.022 points to end at 1.782 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was down 1.17% or 1.20 points to 101.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 154 to 61 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.88% or 10.30 to $1176.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 5.90% or 2.55 to hit $45.75 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 4.82% or 2.25 to trade at $49.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1080, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.7228.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 96.61.
