Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Property and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 1.18% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 6.03% or 0.270 points to trade at 4.750 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 5.43% or 0.200 points to end at 3.880 and Petron (PS:PCOR) was up 5.21% or 0.490 points to 9.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI), which lost 4.43% or 0.270 points to trade at 5.820 in late trade. Semirara Minin (PS:SCC) declined 2.34% or 3.0000 points to end at 125.1000 and First Gen (PS:FGEN) shed 1.72% or 0.35 points to 20.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 65 and 38 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1241.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.52% or 0.18 to hit $34.48 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.32 to trade at $36.61 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.13% to 7.1944, while USD/PHP fell 0.27% to 47.065.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 98.25.
