Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 5.67% or 0.253 points to trade at 4.718 at the close. Meanwhile, Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) added 3.55% or 0.220 points to end at 6.422 and Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) was up 2.67% or 0.210 points to 8.080 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Abengoa B (MC:ABGek), which fell 40.00% or 0.168 points to trade at 0.252 at the close. Endesa (MC:ELE) declined 0.31% or 0.060 points to end at 19.425 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 0.17% or 0.016 points to 9.621.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 153 to 68 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Abengoa B (MC:ABGek) fell to all time lows; falling 40.00% or 0.168 to 0.252.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1070.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.37% or 0.59 to hit $42.45 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.81% or 0.83 to trade at $45.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.0610, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7022.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 99.89.
