Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Food and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which rose 3.96% or 2.47 points to trade at 64.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) added 2.97% or 2.17 points to end at 75.20 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was up 2.78% or 1.30 points to 48.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which fell 1.59% or 0.35 points to trade at 21.65 at the close. mBank SA (WA:MBK) declined 1.47% or 4.80 points to end at 321.00 and Boryszew SA (WA:BORY) was down 0.43% or 0.02 points to 4.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 388 to 223 and 89 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.81% or 1.03 to $37.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 3.30% or 1.21 to hit $37.83 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1068.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.20% to 4.2359, while USD/PLN rose 0.06% to 3.8726.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 98.18.
