Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 6.60% or 0.270 points to trade at 4.360 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 1.68% or 0.340 points to end at 20.590 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was up 1.63% or 0.600 points to 37.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which lost 2.70% or 5.680 points to trade at 204.940 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 3.23% or 0.360 points to end at 10.800 and Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) shed 1.89% or 1.060 points to 54.910.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 41 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.48% or 5.90 to $1228.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.44% or 0.46 to hit $32.33 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 3.79% or 1.26 to trade at $34.53 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.14% to 18.1876, while EUR/MXN fell 0.21% to 20.0223.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 97.49.
