Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Pharma & Bio-technology, Healthcare and Beverage sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.64% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which rose 4.02% or 0.28 points to trade at 7.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Delhaize Group (BRU:DELB) added 2.21% or 1.68 points to end at 77.61 and Umicore NV (BRU:UMI) was up 1.37% or 0.46 points to 33.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI), which fell 2.80% or 2.69 points to trade at 93.55 at the close. UCB (BRU:UCB) declined 2.54% or 1.81 points to end at 69.36 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BRU:ACKB) was down 2.33% or 3.10 points to 130.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 103 to 54 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.08% or 0.90 to $1130.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.03% or 0.90 to hit $45.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.12% or 1.00 to trade at $48.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1254, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.7422.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.02.
