Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 6.42% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.1160 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.70% or 0.0400 points to end at 1.5200 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 0.84% or 0.0570 points to 6.8460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.01% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.5370 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.07% or 0.0002 points to end at 0.0185 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 0.74% or 0.0410 points to 5.5130.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 16 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.52% or 0.26 to $50.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.41% or 0.20 to hit $48.79 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.13% or 15.10 to trade at $1354.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1145, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8390.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 95.63.
