Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Transport and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Turkcell (IS:TCELL) added 2.09% or 0.25 points to end at 12.20 and Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) was up 1.96% or 0.45 points to 23.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which fell 6.02% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.250 at the close. Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) declined 4.44% or 13.50 points to end at 290.50 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was down 3.97% or 0.050 points to 1.210.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 289 to 106 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.02% or 0.080 to 1.250. Shares in Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.97% or 0.050 to 1.210.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.40 to $1067.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.33% or 0.54 to hit $40.13 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.14 to trade at $43.44 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.06% to 2.8672, while EUR/TRY fell 0.13% to 3.0490.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 99.87.
