Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.81% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 6.98% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.138 at the close. Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) added 4.45% or 0.8700 points to end at 20.4200 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 4.20% or 0.012 points to 0.298 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which lost 10.00% or 0.0900 points to trade at 0.8100 in late trade. Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) declined 7.83% or 0.130 points to end at 1.530 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 7.27% or 0.120 points to 1.530.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 61 to 31 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.23% or 3.05 to $1323.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.78% or 0.34 to hit $43.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.59% or 0.73 to trade at $46.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1243, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8516.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.36.
