Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.60%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group (PA:AIR), which rose 4.42% or 2.44 points to trade at 57.68 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 2.35% or 0.27 points to end at 11.52 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was up 2.23% or 1.39 points to 63.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which lost 1.09% or 0.20 points to trade at 18.16 in late trade. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) declined 0.88% or 0.90 points to end at 101.80 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) shed 0.78% or 0.39 points to 49.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 8.28% to 4.945, Airbus Group (PA:AIR) which was up 4.42% to settle at 57.68 and Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which gained 3.85% to close at 19.55.
The worst performers were JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which was down 2.55% to 24.60 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 2.44% to settle at 12.8000 and Groupe Eurotunnel (PA:GETP) which was down 1.88% to 8.091 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 352 to 334 and 100 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.36% to 19.36.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.40% or 4.85 to $1213.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.14% or 1.92 to hit $48.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 4.35% or 2.04 to trade at $48.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.0606, while EUR/GBP fell 1.15% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 101.11.
