Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.34%, while the ADX General index gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 7.69% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.800 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 3.51% or 0.04 points to end at 1.18 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 2.82% or 0.023 points to 0.840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which lost 3.37% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.545 in late trade. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 1.96% or 0.030 points to end at 1.500 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) shed 1.27% or 0.020 points to 1.560.
The top performers on the ADX General were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which rose 5.56% to 1.330, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was up 1.85% to settle at 6.05 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 1.82% to close at 0.560.
The worst performers were Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was down 1.99% to 6.41 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 1.12% to settle at 0.880 and Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which was down 1.06% to 3.750 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 rose and 8 declined, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.43% or 0.20 to $46.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.45% or 0.22 to hit $48.83 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.35 to trade at $1327.35 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.21% to 4.1469.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.65.
