Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Software & Computer Services and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AMS:AEGN), which rose 0.78% or 0.041 points to trade at 5.313 at the close. Meanwhile, Relx NV (AMS:RELN) added 0.44% or 0.060 points to end at 13.710 and Akzo Nobel (AMS:AKZO) was up 0.10% or 0.06 points to 59.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN), which fell 4.17% or 1.85 points to trade at 42.49 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) declined 2.95% or 0.19 points to end at 6.11 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) was down 2.71% or 1.61 points to 57.73.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 134 to 43 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.95% or 0.19 to 6.11.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.63% to 30.80.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.66% or 0.74 to $43.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 3.00% or 1.47 to hit $47.57 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.43% or 4.70 to trade at $1108.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1306, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.7330.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.43.
