Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.30% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.99% or 0.360 points to trade at 12.420 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 2.91% or 0.980 points to end at 34.710 and America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) was up 2.35% or 0.270 points to 11.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 1.46% or 0.480 points to trade at 32.440 in late trade. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 1.45% or 0.650 points to end at 44.090 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 1.33% or 3.770 points to 279.390.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 85 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 1.44% or 17.90 to $1264.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.32% or 1.17 to hit $51.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.45% or 1.26 to trade at $52.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.38% to 18.1045, while EUR/MXN fell 1.09% to 20.6316.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 93.59.
