Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 2.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to trade at 0.580 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) fell 0.07% or 0.0100 points to end at 14.4700 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 0.66% or 0.0040 points to 0.5990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 4.66% or 0.0880 points to trade at 1.8010 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 3.38% or 0.0012 points to end at 0.0343 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 3.24% or 0.1000 points to 2.9830.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 41 to 6 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.03% or 0.01 to $37.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $35.71 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.89% or 10.90 to trade at $1230.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1397, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.8048.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 94.56.
