Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 1.06% or 0.0190 points to trade at 1.8110 at the close. Meanwhile, Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER) added 0.76% or 0.23 points to end at 30.34 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) was up 0.65% or 0.055 points to 8.475 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which fell 4.27% or 0.208 points to trade at 4.668 at the close. Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) declined 2.91% or 0.55 points to end at 18.36 and Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) was down 2.23% or 0.68 points to 29.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 261 to 193 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.99% or 0.90 to $44.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.24% or 0.61 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.55% or 6.00 to trade at $1091.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.0932, while EUR/GBP rose 0.76% to 0.7043.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.85.
