Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Holdings & Investments, Telecoms and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which rose 5.48% or 0.290 points to trade at 5.580 at the close. Bizim Magazalari (IS:BIZIM) added 5.16% or 0.71 points to end at 14.46 and KOC Holding (IS:KCHOL) was up 5.00% or 0.61 points to 12.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which lost 1.89% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.520 in late trade. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 1.24% or 0.19 points to end at 15.16 and Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) shed 0.87% or 0.02 points to 2.29.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 260 to 79 and 73 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1239.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.62% or 0.52 to hit $31.63 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.27 to trade at $34.14 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.20% to 2.9313, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 3.2356.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 97.44.
