Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Energy and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 4.44% or 0.81 points to trade at 19.06 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 4.20% or 6.70 points to end at 166.35 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 2.70% or 0.81 points to 30.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP), which lost 3.22% or 4.10 points to trade at 123.40 in late trade. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 3.16% or 0.90 points to end at 27.56 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) shed 2.59% or 0.95 points to 35.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 315 to 170 and 165 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.22% or 0.11 to $48.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.24% or 0.12 to hit $50.23 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.11% or 14.80 to trade at $1353.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.54% to 4.4342, while USD/PLN rose 0.38% to 3.9787.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.62.
