Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.30% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 4.71% or 0.0008 points to trade at 0.0178 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 2.64% or 0.0180 points to end at 0.7000 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 0.94% or 0.089 points to 9.588 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 1.16% or 0.0380 points to trade at 3.2450 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.99% or 0.0180 points to end at 1.7920 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 0.92% or 0.1100 points to 11.8000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 17 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.97% or 1.04 to $51.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.72% or 0.89 to hit $50.93 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.75 to trade at $1266.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.0937, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8919.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 98.22.
