Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Tourism and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO), which rose 4.81% or 2.600 points to trade at 56.600 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 2.14% or 0.44 points to end at 21.00 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 1.96% or 0.150 points to 7.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which lost 4.70% or 0.180 points to trade at 3.650 in late trade. Do-Co (IS:DOCO) declined 4.64% or 14.60 points to end at 300.30 and Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) shed 4.53% or 0.59 points to 12.43.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 227 to 114 and 68 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1217.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.07% or 0.53 to hit $49.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.26 to trade at $50.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.17% to 2.9493, while EUR/TRY fell 0.18% to 3.2857.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.78.
