Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Insurance and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Med Paper (CS:PAP), which rose 10.00% or 1.60 points to trade at 17.60 at the close. M2M Group (CS:M2M) added 5.83% or 16.00 points to end at 290.00 and S2M (CS:S2M) was up 5.52% or 11.00 points to 210.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stokvis Nord Afrique (CS:SNA), which lost 5.56% or 1.38 points to trade at 23.42 in late trade. Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) declined 3.31% or 1.65 points to end at 48.05 and LafargeHolcim Maroc (CS:LHM) shed 3.23% or 71 points to 2126.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 12 and 11 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.93% or 0.81 to $41.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.64% or 0.72 to hit $43.19 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.53% or 7.05 to trade at $1341.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.20% to 10.8690, while USD/MAD rose 0.09% to 9.8177.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.62.
