Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction & Building Materials, Mining and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares gained 1.21% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Miniere Touissit (CS:CMT), which rose 10.00% or 103 points to trade at 1133 at the close. Lafarge Ciments (CS:LAC) added 10.00% or 167 points to end at 1837 and Holcim Maroc SA (CS:HOL) was up 9.89% or 180 points to 2000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eqdom (CS:EQDM), which lost 5.71% or 50 points to trade at 825 in late trade. Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) declined 4.40% or 2.49 points to end at 54.00 and Cosumar (CS:CSMR) shed 3.06% or 6 points to 190.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 18 and 6 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.66% or 0.27 to $41.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.51% or 0.21 to hit $41.41 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.73% or 9.20 to trade at $1245.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.10% to 10.9170, while USD/MAD rose 0.16% to 9.7120.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 95.37.
