Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Electronic Parts/Components and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.78%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Cci (TW:6230), which rose 10.00% or 13.00 points to trade at 143.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Apt (TW:3682) added 9.99% or 0.99 points to end at 10.90 and Gold Circuit E (TW:2368) was up 9.95% or 0.81 points to 8.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which fell 5.45% or 0.30 points to trade at 5.20 at the close. Tainan Spinnin (TW:1440) declined 2.92% or 0.40 points to end at 13.30 and Yungtay (TW:1507) was down 2.25% or 1.00 points to 43.45.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 721 to 121 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cci (TW:6230) rose to all time highs; rising 10.00% or 13.00 to 143.00.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.26% or 0.41 to $32.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.71% or 0.56 to hit $33.40 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.47% or 5.20 to trade at $1101.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.11% to 33.513, while TWD/CNY rose 0.72% to 0.1959.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 99.50.
