Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gas Natural (MC:GAS), which rose 1.68% or 0.290 points to trade at 17.585 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 1.26% or 0.240 points to end at 19.300 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was up 1.06% or 0.280 points to 26.645 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 3.88% or 0.157 points to trade at 3.889 in late trade. Sacyr (MC:SCYR) declined 2.27% or 0.042 points to end at 1.806 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) shed 2.18% or 0.580 points to 26.070.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 84 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.81% or 10.20 to $1244.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.61% or 0.25 to hit $41.39 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.14 to trade at $41.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1244, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.7815.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 95.34.
