Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 2.49% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 13.08% or 0.0051 points to trade at 0.0441 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) added 6.25% or 0.0220 points to end at 0.3740 and Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) was up 4.81% or 0.0130 points to 0.2830 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 8.16% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.1350 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 0.56% or 0.0360 points to end at 6.4860 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) gained 0.58% or 0.0450 points to 7.8520.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 38 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 0.75% or 0.30 to $40.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.11% or 0.80 to hit $38.64 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.03% or 13.10 to trade at $1259.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1155, while EUR/GBP fell 1.01% to 0.7748.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 96.17.
