Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 7.38% or 3.41 points to trade at 49.61 at the close. Boryszew SA (WA:BORY) added 5.37% or 0.27 points to end at 5.30 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 3.67% or 0.54 points to 15.27 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 4.31% or 1.00 points to trade at 22.19 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.48% or 2.59 points to end at 71.85 and Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) shed 2.49% or 3.78 points to 148.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 269 to 259 and 159 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $48.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1251.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.20% to 4.4200, while USD/PLN rose 0.13% to 3.9429.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 95.40.
